Origin of The Needle Doc

Dr. Natalie Hawkins takes pride in her roots as a small-town girl from Descanso, CA. She graduated from high school in 2009 and set out to fulfill her medical aspirations at UCLA, where she earned a degree in Physiological Science in 2013. Continuing her education, Dr. Hawkins obtained her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from The University of Southern California (USC), graduating in 2016.

After completing her studies, Dr. Hawkins gained experience in outpatient orthopedics across California, Arizona, and Kansas. During this time, she noticed a troubling trend: patient care was often dictated by insurance companies and reimbursement rates rather than the individual needs of patients. Clinics pressured her to see 2-3 patients per hour, which she felt compromised the quality of care she could provide. Additionally, Dr. Hawkins was alarmed by the lack of insurance coverage for injury prevention services.

This insight inspired her to create a cash pay model, enabling personalized, one-on-one care designed to assist each individual in achieving their fullest potential. Thus, The Needle Doc was born.

Dr. Hawkins stumbled upon two chiropractors, Dr. Jessica Campbell and Dr. Kelli Nelson, who had a similar treatment philosophy and dream to create a multidisciplinary practice for people to reach their full potential. She teamed up with them at The Healing House in 2023 and the rest is history. The Healing House takes pride in providing a range of services, including chiropractors, a physical therapist, a Chinese herbalist, a counselor, and a dietitian.
